Pemberly

The layout and cards today are from the Pemberly paperpack from CTMH. This pack was featured in last season's book, but carried over to the new one. This was one of the first sets I ordered, because I loved the blues and the print on the patterned papers. I felt like this was such a versatile pack!

I made 4 cards using the same pattern on all of them. I love doing the same style card with different sentiments. I think it makes a great little on the go gift if you need something quick! Just put them together with some envelopes, tie a bow around and done.

These were all made with Pemberly patterned paper, white cardstock, some CTMH blue buttons, and white twine. Ink and stamps were also CTMH.

Now for the layout. I haven't added my pictures to this one yet, as I'm not sure which ones I will use. Banners are still very on trend for layouts and cards. And I love them. I've used a few on the sides to give it a small something extra in places where it just looked  to plain.  For the upper left corner, the white butterflies came from CTMH. I just stamped a little image on each one to make them different in the same colors that I used in my layouts to make them flow.

Superheros to the Rescue

In the last book, CTMH had a Superheros paper pack that I absolutely loved!  I have a little 5 month old grandson, and I knew the papers would be perfect for some of his pictures. I can't wait to show you how they turned out.

I dressed Tripp up like Clark Kent, look at his onesie with a tie on it and his glasses. I think the pics really make the layouts..lol

The design of the layout is not my own. Once I saw them posted in a group I  am on, they really caught my eye and I thought there were perfect for the pictures. It was originally done by Kim Ferguson Donahoo's Roxie layout, with a few adjustments I used Superheros paper.

I'm sorry to say we can't purchase the paperpack anymore, July 31st was the last day.  I do have lots of current things to share with you coming soon!

Cute Way to Package!

I love to make 3x3 cards. They are great to slip into little bags when people order stuff from me. I think they add the perfect touch to say thanks and also show off some ideas on how to use our products.

A lot of my friends are in home based businesses. I know someone that sells just about anything from Miche purses, Thirty One, Pampered Chef, Premier Jewelery, you know it, I have a gal :) We all trade parties to get our groups started again if we fizzle out or to just have a fun girls night out.

The perfect little hostess gift for me to give to each of these, are little "Thanks for your business" notecards so they too can thank their customers in a sweet little note.  This set is one I made for one of those friends.

I started out making a small box large enough to hold 6 3x3 notecards and matching envelopes. The instructions were pretty simple after a little fiddling around a bit with the edges. You have to remember to cut some of the slits, which weren't listed in the directions I followed, but quickly figured out.

Big News.. New News...Super Great News...

Close to my Heart has a new book out that you can order from starting in August. This book has some awesome new stamps, home decor items, work on the go kits, embellishments, a new cricut cartridge and alcohol markers.

YES!!! (squealllll) ALCOHOL markers!! I was soooo excited to see them. I ♥ my alcohol markers. They make the images pop off your card and are so easy to use and blend. Want to know the best part about these? I'm sure if you've priced other alcohol markers, you've noticed that can be a bit pricey. But, these are only $5.95 for a set of two! For each color you pick, you will get a complementary color. When you look at the book, there is a colored dot beside each color. This dot will indicate your matching color. If there is a light dot, you will get a lighter hue, if the dot is a darker shade, you will get a darker hue to match the color you choose. I can't wait to get these in my hot little hands to try. Wouldn't a marker club be awesome? Let's find 10 people and get one started. :)

There are also some cute new Work on the Go Kits. They have one that is great for a Halloween Party, or if want a cute way to make treats for your trick or treaters. There is also a Scroll Album kit. You really have to see this one. It comes with an actual scroll that you roll out to decorate and them roll up to keep on your mantel or shelf. People just unroll the ribbon to check out the pictures. On to the card kits!! Yes.. some of you are strictly card markers only and CTMH listened! There are two card kits that are beautiful. One is for everyday cards and there is a Christmas card kit. The card kits come with everything you need to make 15 cards, including cards and envelopes.

I know you are excited to hear about the new Cricut cartridge, right? This cartridge has 700 images including a font, shapes, and 3d items. It also comes with 3 D size stamp sets, and 3 12"x9" dimensional elements in coordinating shapes.

Be watching the blog for more info about the cartridge.. and ways to get it cheaper ;) I have a special for the month of August, that I don't think you can pass!

If you've ever thought about becoming a Close to my Heart consultant now is the time to take the plunge because they just announced a brand new $49 Consultant Starter Kit that is full of $130 in product!  Not only that, starting August 1st and while supplies last, they'll send you a beautiful CTMH branded damask bag!

I'd love to have you join my team and share the fun!  To learn more about the benefits of becoming a consultant and to sign up, visit my site by clicking  here.

I can't wait to start showing you some new stuff... so I better start creating! Have a happy day everyone!

Old cards...

I've been looking through photobucket at some of my older cards and realized I'd never shared this set with you. My mother-in-law loves to send cards! She has the most beautiful handwriting. Lucky for me, that makes gift giving easy. I always whip up a few sets of cards. Since she does mail them, I try to keep them clean and simple, which means no lumpy bumpy..lol

The first card is a stamp set from Close to my Heart called Gnome Garden. I don't think you can purchase it anymore, but I adore the images on this set!
Gnome Garden, CTMH

For the next two cards, I used stamp sets from the dollar bin at Michael's. They had some of the cutest images over the Spring!

I made two of each card, for a set of six. I also made a cute little card holder for them and tied ribbon around for a beautiful presentation. I can't seem to find a picture of that so you'll have to trust me ;) On all three cards, I used Copic markers to color in the images.

Check back in for more artwork tomorrow. Remember all that talk about a light box?? Well, guess what?? My dear sweet hubby finally made one!! Now, we have to figure out the best lighting to use for it.

Exciting News....

This is my first post as a new consultant for Close to my Heart! I finally took the plunge. After being a customer for years and years, the campaign they had last month was to good to pass up. The kit practically paid for itself so I had to take a leap of faith and try to sell what I love.

I've been a scrapbooker since 2002. Since that time, I've seen a lot of companies and used a ton of new products. I still love lots of things, but Close to my Heart has stayed a favorite of mine. The paper kits they offer now are a tremendous value and it makes things so much easier and quicker for a scrapbooker like myself with limited time to have all of the matching necessities in one easy pouch to pull out. The kits come with a paper pack the includes 6 sheets of 12x12 double sided designer paper and 6 sheets of 12x12 cardstock, a clear stamp set, some embellishments, and a brochure that gives you measurements with ideas to make 4 12x12 layouts. All for around $30. There are some awesome add ons as well if you want. Everything is so matchy matchy.. gotta love that!

Since I'm a demo now, I decided to make a layout using only stuff from Close to my Heart. I thought it would be hard, but I found it fairly easy. So easy in fact, almost everything I used came from one kit.

This layout used the Stella kit. This kit is hands down one of my favorites in the new book. The colors are so spectacular and just in time for Spring/Summer pages. My favorite time of year to scrapbook.

I was looking through some different CTMH blogs and  one layout really stuck out to me, so I decided to recreate it. I changed mine up a bit, but the bottom layer of pennants are the same. Here is the link to the original layout http://wizardshangout.blogspot.com/2012/03/simply-sweet-1-pager.html If you have some time, you must check out her work. I am in awe of almost everyone one of her creations! She makes it look so easy.

Here is my version:
 Photobucket

Supplies used:
Stella kit; Bitty Buds asst; Bitty Opaques Pearls; Twill; PomPom Trim from the Designer Ribbon pink collection; and some random CTMH stamps for the banners; Lagoon and Smoothie Inks

Love ♥

I can finally post again! I use photobucket to host my pictures and I started having problems with it. So, no Christmas cards were posted and I made several super cute ones. But, I can start again with Valentines :)

Photobucket

This card was made using an image from CTMH Childhood Portrait. I've always loved silhouette images, and this stamp set has some of the cutest. The heart was cut using my Silhouette. The pattern paper is from My Minds Eye, Lost & Found -Madison Avenue. The ribbon is from Stampin' Up. The word  Love is handwritten with a Sharpie. I never hand write on my cards or my layouts because I think it looks bad, but I wanted it to say Love and I didn't have a stamp. I also used a few sparkles that I've had for a long time from Heidi Swapp.

I have several more Valentine cards to make, and I hope to be able to share them. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of this card.
